The
Office of Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines launched Kasaysayang Lokal (KASALO) Mo, a new online program, on 3 August 2021, during the 8th Local Historical Committees Network (LHCN) General Assembly. This replaced the Road to 500:
The
Philippine Quincentennial Special in line with the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines.

The
concurrent Antique Lone District Representative said in her message during the said assembly of historians and advocates of local history that the new online program will be hosted by her. It is her “humble contribution in fostering and enlivening Philippine local history.”

As explained further by Legarda, KASALO Mo is envisioned as a “one-hour bimonthly live program on Facebook.” She will discuss with various historians, scholars, and champions of local history “what they do, the problems they encounter, and the concerns you want the NHCP and other cultural agencies to hear and address.” She also sees it as her alternative way of consulting the stakeholders to serve as her “basis for proposed legislative measures or new programs of the cultural agencies.”

She wants historians and stakeholders to “feel that they are not forgotten but worthy to be acknowledged and celebrated.”

The
first and second episodes of KASALO Mo will be on 10 and 24 August 2021, 10 am, on the Facebook page of Legarda, LHCN, NHCP, and National Quincentennial Committee.
The
se are in line with History Month 2021.
