How to celebrate History Month 2021? Remember the winning moments of the Filipino heart and soul.

Space is not enough to detail the triumphs and compassion we exhibited throughout our history as a people. The National Historical Commission of the Philippines encourages each and every Filipino to celebrate #VictoryAndHumanity this History Month (August 2021). We have a victorious heritage just like what the warriors of Mactan led by Lapulapu had proven in the Battle of Mactan, and at the same time, a compassionate culture like what our ancestors in Homonhon (now part of Guiuan, Eastern Samar) had shown the starving, undernourished, dehydrated, scurvy-stricken, and dying crew of the Magellan-Elcano expedition–both happened 500 years ago.

May we find ways how to exhibit “Victory and Humanity” every day. It is the theme of the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines.
Maligayang Buwan ng Kasaysayan, kababayan!
